| Cast: Angie - Lisa Tonkin Lauren - Sophie Wallace Dennis - Steve Millar Ed - Jonty Coulson Set in a seaside cafe, popular with bird-watchers, manager Angie and 19-year-old Lauren, who waits tables, have an almost mother-daughter closeness, and both have experienced loss: Lauren of her mum, and Angie, 20 years ago, of her baby girl. Lauren’s widowed dad Dennis, hovers every day at closing time, pecking at Angie’s leftovers mainly as an excuse to be near her. Then Ed, a sweetly nerdish young conservationist, arrives to start a new job and rents Lauren’s old bedroom in Dennis’s house. As the seasons change, relationships bud and blossom, and their lives begin a cycle of renewal. |  |
